Abstract:
The paper deals with strategies of forming relative clauses in Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian languages. The author suggests, that the Eastern Slavic languages have more structured strategies of relativisation, that it was claimed before, and can form a continuum of relativisation, containing both paratactic and hypotactic strategies. He shows, that in the Ukrainian language the main strategy is to use uninflected relative element, in Russian - the inflected one is used, and in Belarusian both strategies are well-balanced. (MF)

Praca omawia strategie tworzenia zdań względnych w językach rosyjskim, białoruskim i ukraińskim. Autor sugeruje, że języki wschodniosłowiańskie mają bardziej strukturyzowane strategie relatywizacji, niż twierdzono dotychczas i mogą tworzyć kontinuum relatywizacyjne, zawierające zarówno strategie parataktyczne, jak hipotaktyczne. Pokazuje, że w języku ukraińskim podstawową strategią jest użycie nieodmiennego elementu względnego, w rosyjskim - dominuje użycie odmiennego, zaś w białoruskim obie strategie są zrównoważone. (MF)
