Abstract:
The main theoretical problem in the paper concerning time and aspect - which are considered as semantic categories – is connected with their quantification. Although in Volume 1 of "Bulgarian-Polish Contrastive Grammar" quantification of the semantic categories of tense and aspect was considered without separating them from each other; the separation is justified by the examples of arguments from the Bulgarian language such as, among others, meanings of imperfectum of perfect verbs and meanings of aorist of imperfect verbs. As the imperfect aspect is connected with "duration" or "repetitiveness" of state and events; the singularity (uniqueness) is expressed in the Slavonic languages through perfect aspect. Based on the Polish and Bulgarian language material it might be said that quantification of time can be unique, universal or existential; quantification of aspect can only be numerical. (PK)

W artykule przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące czasu i aspektu - rozumianych jako kategorie semantyczne - związane z ich kwantyfikacją. Pomimo że w "Gramatyce konfrontatywnej bułgarsko-polskiej" kwantyfikacja semantycznej kategorii czasu i aspektu rozpatrywana była bez rozdzielania obu kategorii, istnieją argumenty przemawiające za ich oddzieleniem, m.in. w języku bułgarskim znaczenia imperfektywne czasowników perfektywnych i znaczenia aorystu czasowników imperfektywnych. Aspekt niedokonany połączony jest z duratywnością i powtarzalnością zdarzeń i stanów; jednostkowość wyrażana jest w językach słowiańskich aspektem dokonanym. Opierając się na materiale językowym polskim i bułgarskim, można stwierdzić, że kwantyfikacja czasu może być jednostkowa, ogólna i egzystencjalna, natomiast kwantyfikacja aspektu - jedynie numeryczna.
