The author presents two ways of representing temporal dependencies in natural languages. The first one is the linear representation of time introduced by H. Reichenbach, the second one, introduced by C.A. Petri, is a net representation of time. There are several crucial differences between these approaches, with the most important place being given to accepting mutual independence of states and events as well as possibility of existing different histories in net model. The author shares a view that the earlier (linear) approach can be seen as a particular case of the latter one. (PK)

W artykule opisano dwie metody prezentacji zależności temporalnych w językach naturalnych. Pierwsza zaproponowana przez H. Reichenbacha jest przedstawieniem liniowym czasu, druga, autorstwa C.A. Petriego, stanowi przedstawienie sieciowe. Między omawianymi metodami występuje szereg różnic, najważniejsza to wzajemna niezależność stanów i zdarzeń oraz możliwość jednoczesnego pokazania różnych wydarzeń w jednym modelu sieciowym. Autor stwierdza, że wcześniejsze linearne podejście może stanowić specyficzny przypadek podejścia sieciowego. (PK)
